Recognizing Our Moral Obligation to Protect Animals​

Our commitment to justice and equity extends beyond human society to include the sentient beings with whom we share our planet. The current legal and industrial frameworks often treat animals merely as property or resources, leading to widespread cruelty, exploitation, and environmental degradation. A truly progressive society must recognize the intrinsic value of animals and uphold our moral obligation to ensure their humane treatment and protect them from unnecessary suffering.

We advocate for comprehensive federal action to strengthen animal welfare laws, end cruel practices in agriculture and research, protect wildlife habitats, and foster a culture of compassion towards all living creatures.

Key Pillars for Advancing Animal Rights and Welfare:​

  1. Strengthening Anti-Cruelty Laws:

    • Enact and vigorously enforce federal laws prohibiting animal cruelty, neglect, and abuse, including strengthening penalties for offenders.
